Rooted in Ridgewood
A fabulous powder room
A HOUSE WITH HISTORY
Back in the 1980’s, this house had a reputation. Known as ‘the place to party’ it comes as no surprise that many Ridgewood residents remember all the fun that was had in this home.
Today, a new family has taken the helm, transforming this classically designed house into one that is full of character, color and a chic modernity.
Luxurious layers in the living room
A custom window bench - the perfect place to perch
The living room was designed for entertaining. Boasting plenty of seating - from a curvy sofa to scalloped slipper chairs and extra long window seat - guests are welcome to sit and stay a while. The custom-made Oushak rug pulls in ALL the colors to ground the space and add a pop of fun. We wanted to create a space that felt light, colorful and not too precious.
A living room ready to entertain
Inspired by a passion for travel and a beloved beach house, we transformed each space into its own destination, with a common thread of easy elegance. Layered coastal textures, tailored comfort, and collected pieces tell a story.
The dining room, just off the living room is wrapped in an enchanting wallcovering. The corner alcoves were lacquered in a bright chartreuse, and the ceiling in a creamy high gloss.

If these walls could talk….
The office was designed as a dedicated place to work and provides plenty of storage, too.
An office escape
A custom bookcase was built to accommodate multiple monitors, a separate pull out desk, and picture frame lighting. Wrapped in a nubby raffia grasscloth and finished with a beaded chandelier, this office feels like an escape from the daily grind.
The laundry room was carved out of a former closet and is a true showstopper. Whimsical wallpaper, bubble lighting and honeycomb floor tiles make the never-ending task of washing and drying a joy.
Laundry room goals
The primary bedroom and bathroom were part of the second round of renovations and were designed to feel like a suite, with the original bathroom taken down to the studs. Parquet marble flooring, custom vanity and linen cabinets along with a walk-in shower were all thoughtfully built with the clients’ needs in mind.

The dreamiest of bedrooms …
Peacock blue velvet drapery panels with bold trim on the leading edges are striking against the chinoiserie mural
The primary bedroom was reconfigured to eliminate a dated soffit and make way for two separate walk-in closets. The result?
A sophisticated and serene space that has the charm of a boutique hotel.
The guest room was designed for frequent family visits, and the goal was to have it be fun, functional and colorful. Mission accomplished!
Your guests may never leave…
A chinoiserie print adorns the adjacent bathroom
This girl’s bedroom had a clear color directive: Aqua and Lavender. So we wrapped the walls in this watery hue and designed a ‘swoops and curvy’ headboard upholstered in the softest of linen. We carved out a desk within the awkward angles in the adjacent room - making it a perfect nook to do homework.
This sweet girl’s bed is tucked into a cozy alcove, with built-in shelves that allow for plenty of storage for books and knick knacks. The custom headboard has just right amount of swoops and curves to offset all the boxy lines.
A floating desk amidst all the angles
A bathroom that channels all things preppy
Although this home’s long history is impressive, it’s the new memories yet to be created that are bound to be the most special.
With an infusion of color, pattern and character, these walls now reflect the home’s newest residents, while still echoing its storied past.
Grasscloth walls wrapped in aqua, paired with lavender = a little girl’s dream bedroom
And a playroom that even adults would want to hang in…
